International Account Manager Ingredients

Are you ready to make real impact and help shape the strategic future of Royal Koopmans – and in particular Koopmans Food Ingredients? Then this role offers a unique opportunity to fully apply your commercial strength and international experience.

We are looking for a driven professional for a challenging international B2B sales and business development position. Someone with a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record in independently building international business.

This position is for a minimum of 36 hours per week, with at least one day per week working from our office in Leeuwarden. In addition, you will travel internationally around 20% to 30% of your time to visit customers and partners.

What will you do?

Together with your colleagues in the commercial team of Koopmans Food Ingredients (KFI), you will work in an entrepreneurial and goal-oriented way to achieve tangible revenue and profit growth (based on a clear strategy and action plan). You will further develop both existing and new international customer relationships and sell innovative, tailor-made food ingredient products and solutions to food companies worldwide.

Royal Koopmans has the ambition to further strengthen its strong international position. In this role, you will make a visible commercial contribution and hold a key position within the organization.

Key focus areas in your role:

  • You will build a strong position in the international playing field, think in opportunities and are not limited by borders;

  • You will expand existing relationships and acquire new international customers, based on trust, added value and strong commercial opportunities;

  • You will translate consumer trends and customer needs into new product innovations, introducing them into both existing and new regions;

  • You will bring focus to business development, map DMU structures, and actively drive acquisition and a clear prospecting pipeline;

  • You will work closely with the KIEM team (innovation & technology) within Royal Koopmans to realize joint innovation opportunities.

Royal Koopmans employs approximately 170 colleagues. The KFI sales team consists of three International Account Managers, each with their own country focus. You will report directly to the Commercial Director.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and persistent Account Manager with a strong pioneering spirit and commercial drive, an international network, and a proven track record. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys doing business worldwide with food manufacturers (including within the appetizer, vegan and poultry segments) and who is able to sell unique, innovative food ingredient concepts and solutions with real added value.

You are someone who:

  • Has completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a commercial, economic or business-related field. A background in Food Technology is a strong plus;

  • Has relevant international experience in B2B sales and business development;

  • Can demonstrate a proven success story in sales and new business development of specialty food ingredients and solutions;

  • Brings a strong pioneering mindset and commercial drive: optimistic, opportunity-focused and always able to turn market potential into results;

  • Is energetic, charismatic, driven and communicatively strong;

  • Is fluent in English; an additional foreign language is a plus.
